At a recent forum, some businessmen claimed that certain consumers were abusing their rights and Complaints are being used as a platform for that purpose. We think not.
Abuse means to violate or wrongful use of, say power or authority, but a right is a right. You can exercise it or choose not to, but you cannot abuse. Consumers have the right to complain about any company or product if they feel their rights have been violated.
If a consumer were sold a defective product and demanded for a repair, replacement or refund, he is exercising his right but not abusing it. Whether the product is of high or low value is immaterial.
